Google Slides is a great tool for freelancers and companies looking to create their next presentation. Although the free version offers some useful features, I find the premium version far superior. Slides can only be used with a Google account. Most people already have one. You can use your Google ID to sign up for Slides across all products offered by Google.
Shareable link feature
The Shareable link feature allows you to share your Google Slides presentation with clients or colleagues. In addition to being able to copy the URL of your presentation, it can be converted into a preview, template, or PDF link. This option can be useful if you want to highlight the content of your document without having your audience know it was created in G Suite. This option is great if you want to share your presentation quickly with multiple people.
The Share function is located in the top-right corner and allows you send your presentation to multiple people. You can also set the editing permissions of each contact individually. You can only share the presentation to contacts who have read-only email access to your address. Alternatively, you can give everyone in your contact list the same access. This feature allows you to get feedback from your clients and colleagues without having to change your presentation.
Google Slides’ Auto-save feature makes it easy to create presentations. This feature automatically saves your work in the cloud, allowing you to continue working on your slideshow from anywhere. This feature is easy to use and will ensure that you have the most recent version of your presentation at all times. This is especially useful if you’re creating a presentation for a client or co-worker.
Another feature of Google Slides is its offline mode. This feature allows you view your documents even if you don’t have an internet connection. If you lose internet access, your offline document will sync with the online version and will automatically save to the Cloud. To use this feature, sign into your Google account in Chrome. Check the box that allows offline editing. Next, right-click on a Sheet and select “Use offline mod” from the context menu. You can also press the Ctrl key while right-clicking a sheet file and select “Use offline mode”.
If you are experiencing instability with your internet connection, auto-save will not work. An unstable connection is the most common reason for this problem. This can occur with Wi-Fi or public networks. If you are unable to save your work, then you’re probably on the wrong network. Your changes won’t be saved to the cloud if your connection is slow. Speedtest by Ookla can help you determine if your internet connection is slow.
Auto-save is another feature of Google Slides that will make your work more efficient. Auto-save will automatically save any changes to your cloud so that you can access them whenever you like. If you are constantly making changes, this feature will be very helpful for you. It will also keep you from making changes in the cloud. Aside from that, it will also help you work faster.
Editing options for images
If you’ve ever wanted to add an image to your presentation, you can now do so in Google Slides. You can choose to insert an image or use an automatically-uploaded image. You can also adjust the size and position of the image, change its colour shade, and change its contrast and brightness. Google Slides makes image editing easy with the following tools:
Google Slides’ Crop feature allows you to crop an image to the size and shape that you require. To crop an image, just click the image and choose the area you wish to crop. To add an extra touch to your image, you can also use the borders option. Click on the image to choose the border color or weight. To add borders, you can use dots or dashes. Finally, Google Slides allows you to reshape your image and resize it.
Using the image formatting options is easy. The formatting options are on the right side of the Google Slides window. You can choose “No Recolor” by default. This will change the color of the preview thumbnail. You can change the transparency of the image. For more detailed instructions, see the following video tutorial. You can sign up for the Google newsletter if you have a Google account. This will allow you to receive news and updates about the latest features.
Adding drop shadows makes images look more realistic and add depth to your slides. You can also adjust the distance and angle of the drop shadow. These tools are available in Google Slides, and can be customized to your liking. Just make sure you’re not using third-party extensions, as they’ll only complicate things. Click the Format option, then click “Drop Shadow” to add a shadow. Once you’ve selected the drop shadow effect, you’ll see several options.
After inserting your image into Google Slides, you’ll need to decide what kind of image you want to use. Google Slides allows you to insert either JPEG or PNG files. While PNG is better for pictures with depth, JPEG is best for flat vector style graphics. You can also choose the quality and size of the image and save it locally or to the cloud. You’re now ready to go!
You can give students or colleagues a set of editable slides to help them make presentations. You can then watch other students make changes live. Google Slides offers a wide range of collaboration options. You can even assign a group of people each editable slide. This feature is great for teamwork, as students can all work on the same document. There are even features that let you see your colleagues typing or editing as they do so.
Use the Collaboration options in Google Slides to collaborate with students or colleagues. This tool lets you chat with others in real time by clicking on a grey person icon. However, you should be aware that this feature is only available to those who have been added to your presentation. You can also email collaborators by typing a message in the text box and selecting them from a list. Here are a few examples of collaboration options in Google Slides:
All people with access to the presentation link can view it and make edits in real-time when you share it. Multiple people can work on the same deck simultaneously. The top right-hand panel shows the names of your collaborators. Clicking on any collaborator will give you more information about their access rights to the presentation. Then, you can decide to grant them the owner status so that they can edit the document.
It is important that everyone involved in a presentation is aware of their roles. It can be confusing to use desktop software to create presentations. You may have to email multiple versions of the same presentation. Google Slides offers a feature called Version History that allows you to see previous edit rounds. This feature allows you to share and comment on your presentation, as well as sending emails to collaborators with access to it.
You can also share spreadsheets and documents with co-workers. Google Forms on the other hand have only one permission level. Collaborations can edit any part of a form and any responses it contains. You don’t need to create separate forms for collaborators using Slides or Sheets. You can also chat while working on a shared document. Using Google Forms, you can even share your work with your team.
How to Customize a Google Slides Template
You may not know that you can import custom themes into Google Slides. If you do, you can import a theme from the Themes pane by clicking the Import theme button. You must log into Google to import a theme. Open your slide presentation. Next, click File > Make a copy the master slide and select the custom theme. After that, you can customize the master slide by changing the color of fonts, adding sections, and more.
Use a Google Slides template to create a presentation
After you download a Google Slides template you can modify it to suit your presentation’s needs. These templates come with numerous designs and styles, so you can easily customize them to fit your presentation’s needs. Here are some examples of how to customize a Google Slides template. Choose the appropriate one based on the needs of your audience. Then, click “Open” to open your presentation in Google Slides.
To change the layout, design, and color scheme of your presentation, simply edit your master slide. If you want to customize the entire slide show, you can also edit the master template editor. After modifying your template, save your project. Be sure to rename it when you are done. You can also change the background color and add a background picture or shape. Next, return to the master slide view to select the new theme.
Once you have chosen the right template, save it to your Google Drive storage. The template can be imported into another presentation by clicking the View/Master button. You can then add text or change the font and layout of your presentation. After importing the template, you can customize it to fit your needs. You can edit a Google Slides template in any way you want, so it can be customized to suit your presentation.
Using an appropriate Google Slides template can make your slides more attractive to your audience. It can be used both for personal and business presentations. Pre-built templates include placeholders for images. This allows you to upload photos directly from your computer, without the need to download or customize the template. Consider the size and quality of your image when choosing one. Contrast is the main element of attention. For example, if your presentation is meant to be watched by many people, you may want to use images that contrast in color.
Find a theme
You can find a theme for Google Slides templates from several sources. Some of these resources offer hundreds, if not thousands, of free themes. You can search by color, tag, or category. You can also search for featured themes and recently updated themes. If you’re looking for a theme that’s specifically for your industry or needs, GoogleSlidesThemes.com has hundreds of free themes you can download. You can also look for multipurpose templates on SlidesGala, which has a great selection of free and premium themes for Google Slides. It’s not just a good theme – it’s a great resource for creating compelling presentations.
Envato Elements is another great resource. It offers many digital assets. Their unlimited-download offer is the best creative offer of 2022. GraphicRiver also offers free Google Slides templates. You don’t have to sign up to access their resources. Although these resources offer a vast array of templates, you might only need a handful. So, what are your options?
Import themes from other presentations is another option. You can import a Google Slides template that you have already downloaded into Google Slides. To do this, you must have the presentation open in Google Drive. Select the theme from the icon menu, and then click Import Theme. You’ll see a gallery of the themes you’ve imported to Google Slides. You can also import themes from Microsoft PowerPoint files.
Google Slides templates come in a variety of colors and styles. If you need to change the appearance of a presentation, a theme is a great option. These themes include placeholder text that you will need to replace. Simply click in the text box and select the contents. Then, type your text to replace that placeholder text. You’ll have to repeat this process throughout the theme. If you’re looking for a theme that looks exactly like your brand or reflects your personal style, a theme can be a great way to start.
Customize a theme
Using a theme is an excellent way to create a consistent visual identity for your presentation and cut down on the time it takes you to select presentation elements. Themes also let you customize the colors and font sizes of the elements on each slide, making them easy to customize for different audiences. Themes can be reused once they are created. Google Slides provides 23 pre-built themes that you can choose from.
You can import PowerPoint themes into Google Slides, in addition to creating a custom theme. To do this, go to the Presentations section of your Google account and search for the theme you want. Browse through the file list until you find a suitable template. Once you have imported the theme, you can add content to make it look professional. A theme can be customized to communicate a brand message to modern customers.
You can add text and a logo to a Google Slides theme. After creating the master slide you can modify the theme’s settings by changing font color or adding new logo. You can also change the background image of the slide. It is important to remember that changes to your master slide will automatically apply to all subsequent layout slides. Theme settings can be changed at any time to reflect the changes made to the master slide.
To change the color of the theme, click on the new color in the dropdown menu. You can then change the background color of your presentation. Once you have chosen a new color, click the “Edit master” button on the “Slide tab in the ribbon. This will take you to the “Master View” of Google Slides, where you can modify the theme color, text colors, and slide layout.
Add sections to a theme
You have probably used Google Slides to create presentations or corporate websites. You may wish to modify them to suit your needs. If you are unsure of how to customize a theme, you can refer to the “Slide Master” section of the Google Slides app for more information. By modifying the theme, you can easily change the look and feel of your presentation.
Themes are great for giving your presentations a consistent visual identity and reducing the number of elements that you have to manually choose. They are easy to create and you can easily create a new one whenever needed. Google Slides has 23 pre-installed themes, including the default. When choosing a theme, make sure to select the default fonts you want to use. A good rule of thumb is to use only three or four different fonts to make your presentation look professional.
Once you have created your Google Slides theme, you can customize it by adding text placeholders. This allows the user to specify exactly where their content should be placed. Theme Builder allows you to add sections and modify existing ones. To add new sections or edit existing ones, click on “Edit Theme” in Google Slides’ “Master View” or “Theme Editor View”.
You can apply a new theme to all your slides, or you can customize just a few. Once you have selected your theme, Google Slides will apply it to the whole presentation. It will also remove any existing theme. You can create a new slide master that has a different theme in order to apply a different template to a slide. You can also import a theme you have previously created to your own presentation. Open the presentation with a blank template to do this. You can add images, text, and web links.
Rearrange placeholders within a theme
You might be curious about how to rearrange placeholders within a Google Slides template. You can easily rearrange placeholders, resize slides and add other formatting to your slides. Just click the “Edit theme” button in the toolbar to access the options. You can also change the color and background of your slides and apply new themes. However, you can’t rearrange placeholders in a theme that already exists.
Select the layout you want to rearrange placeholders in a Google Slides theme. To rearrange the placeholders, simply click the border of the placeholder and drag it to the location of your choice. Once you’ve finished adjusting the placeholders, you can delete them or add more. To delete a placeholder, you can either delete it or press Delete to remove it from the template. If you don’t want to change the layout of your slides, you can create additional blank slides.
If you use the child presentation style, the changes you make will be limited. You must pick and choose which attributes you want to update. Some changes are more complicated, such as changing content or the position of elements. Once you’re done, you can return to your original theme and make the changes you desire. Next, return to the original theme and click on the Save button to save the changes.
You should follow the same steps for adding image placeholders as when inserting text placeholders. First, activate theme builder mode. Next, click on the image placeholder and choose the image style. Drag it to the desired location. You can also resize the image placeholder by dragging it to the position you want. You should be aware that dragging it may cause the image to skew, so be careful not to drag it too far.
