As a freelancer or company looking to build your next presentation, you may want to consider using Google Slides. Although the free version offers some useful features, I find the premium version far superior. You’ll need to set up a Google account to use Slides. Thankfully, most people already have one. You can use your Google ID to sign up for Slides across all products offered by Google.
Shareable link feature
When sharing your Google Slides presentation with colleagues or clients, the Shareable link feature gives you a lot of options. In addition to being able to copy the URL of your presentation, it can be converted into a preview, template, or PDF link. This option can be useful if you want to highlight the content of your document without having your audience know it was created in G Suite. If you want to share your presentation with multiple people, this option will save you time.
The Share function is located in the top-right corner and allows you send your presentation to multiple people. You can also individually set editing permissions for each contact. You can only share the presentation to contacts who have read-only email access to your address. Alternatively, you can give everyone in your contact list the same access. This feature allows you to get feedback from your clients and colleagues without having to change your presentation.
In Google Slides, the Auto-save feature is very convenient for creating presentations. This feature automatically saves your work in the cloud, allowing you to continue working on your slideshow from anywhere. Using this feature is very easy, and it will ensure that the latest version of your presentation is always available to you. This is especially useful if you’re creating a presentation for a client or co-worker.
Google Slides also offers an offline mode. This feature allows you to view your documents without internet connection. If you lose internet access, your offline document will sync with the online version and will automatically save to the Cloud. To use this feature, sign into your Google account in Chrome. Check the box that allows offline editing. Then, right-click on a Sheet file and select “Use offline mode” from the context menu. You can also press Ctrl while right-clicking on a sheet file to select “Use offline Mode”.
Auto-save won’t work if your internet connection is unstable. An unstable connection is the most common reason for this problem. This can occur with Wi-Fi or public networks. If you are unable to save your work, then you’re probably on the wrong network. Your changes won’t be saved to the cloud if your connection is slow. Google Slides also offers auto-save, which will make your work easier. The auto-save feature will automatically save any changes to the cloud, so you can work with it whenever you want. Editing options for images
Google Slides now allows you to add images to your presentations. You can choose to insert an image or use an automatically-uploaded image. Google Slides’ Crop feature allows you to crop an image to the size and shape that you require. To crop an image, just click the image and choose the area you wish to crop. To add an extra touch to your image, you can also use the borders option. To do so, click on the image and then choose the border color and weight. To add borders, you can use dots or dashes. Google Slides also allows you to resize and reshape images.
It is very easy to use the image formatting options. The formatting options are on the right side of the Google Slides window. You can choose “No Recolor” by default. Drop shadows make images look more real and give depth to slides. You can also adjust the distance and angle of the drop shadow. These tools are available in Google Slides and can be adjusted to suit your preferences. Third-party extensions can only make things more complicated. If you want to add a shadow, you can click the Format option and then click “Drop Shadow”. Once you’ve selected the drop shadow effect, you’ll see several options.
After inserting your image into Google Slides, you’ll need to decide what kind of image you want to use. Google Slides allows you insert either JPEG files or PNG files. PNG is better for images with depth, but JPEG is better for flat vector graphics. You can also choose the quality and size of the image and save it locally or to the cloud. You’re now ready to go!
In order to make presentations with colleagues or students, you can assign them a specific set of editable slides. Then, you can watch the other students make changes live. The collaboration options in Google Slides are practically endless. You can even assign a group of people each editable slide. This feature is great for teamwork, as students can all work on the same document. There are even features that let you see your colleagues typing or editing as they do so.
To collaborate with colleagues or students, use the Collaboration options in Google Slides. You can chat with others by clicking on the grey person icon. However, you should be aware that this feature is only available to those who have been added to your presentation. You can also email your collaborators by entering a message into the text box and choosing them from a list. Here are a few examples of collaboration options in Google Slides:
When you share a presentation link, all the people who have access to it can view and make edits in real time. Multiple people can work on the same deck simultaneously. You can see the names of collaborators in the top right-hand panel. Clicking on any collaborator’s name will show you more information about their access to the presentation. You can then grant them the owner status to allow them to edit the document.
It is important that everyone involved in a presentation is aware of their roles. It can be confusing to use desktop software to create presentations. You may have to email multiple versions of the same presentation. However, Google Slides has a feature called Version History, which allows you to view previous edit rounds of a presentation. Aside from sharing and commenting, this feature allows you to send emails to collaborators who have access to your presentation.
You can also share spreadsheets and documents with co-workers. Google Forms, on the other hand, have one permission level. As a result, collaborators on a form can edit any part of the form or any of the responses it contains. You don’t need to create separate forms for collaborators using Slides or Sheets. And you can chat while collaborating on a shared document. Using Google Forms, you can even share your work with your team.
How to Customize a Google Slides Template
You may not be aware that Google Slides allows you to import custom themes. If you do, you can import a theme from the Themes pane by clicking the Import theme button. To import a theme, you must be logged into Google and open your slide presentation. Next, click File > Make a copy the master slide and select the custom theme. You can then customize the master slide by changing font colors, adding sections, or other customizations.
Use a Google Slides template to create a presentation
Once you have downloaded a Google Slides template, you can customize it to fit your presentation’s needs. These templates are available in many styles and designs, so you can customize them to suit your presentation’s needs. Here are some examples of how to customize a Google Slides template. Choose the appropriate one based on the needs of your audience. Then, click “Open” to open your presentation in Google Slides.

You don’t have to sign up to access their resources. Although these resources offer a vast array of templates, you might only need a handful. So, what are your options?
Another option is to import themes from other presentations. You can import a Google Slides template that you have already downloaded into Google Slides. You will need to have the presentation open in Google Drive before you can do this. After that, select the theme in the icon menu and click Import Theme. A gallery of themes that you have imported to Google Slides will appear. Alternatively, you can import themes from Microsoft PowerPoint files.
Google Slides templates have different color schemes and styles. If you need to change the appearance of a presentation, a theme is a great option. A theme can be customized to communicate a brand message to modern customers.
Customizing a Google Slides theme allows you to add a logo and other text. After creating the master slide you can modify the theme’s settings by changing font color or adding new logo. You can also change the background image of the slide. You should remember that any changes made to the master slide will be applied to all subsequent layout slides. Themes are great for giving your presentations a consistent visual identity and reducing the number of elements that you have to manually choose. They’re easy to create, and you can create a new one whenever you need to. Google Slides comes with 23 built-in themes, including a default one. Make sure you choose the default fonts that you want to use when choosing a theme. A good rule of thumb is to use only three or four different fonts to make your presentation look professional.
Once you have created your Google Slides theme, you can customize it by adding text placeholders. This allows the user to specify exactly where their content should be placed. You can either apply a new theme for all slides or just select a few. Once you have selected your theme, Google Slides will apply it to the whole presentation. It will also remove any existing theme. To apply a different theme to a specific slide, you can create a new slide master with a different theme. You can also import a theme from another presentation to your own. To do this, open the presentation you created with a blank theme. You can add images, text, and web links.
Rearrange placeholders in a theme
You might be curious about how to rearrange placeholders within a Google Slides template. You can easily rearrange placeholders, resize slides and add other formatting to your slides. Just click the “Edit theme” button in the toolbar to access the options. You can also change the color and background of your slides and apply new themes. However, you can’t rearrange placeholders in a theme that already exists.
Rearrange placeholders in a Google’s Slides theme by selecting the desired layout. Simply click on the border of the placeholder to rearrange it and drag it to the desired location. After you’re done adjusting the placeholders you can either delete them or add new ones. To delete a placeholder, you can either delete it or press Delete to remove it from the template. You can create additional blank slides if you don’t wish to alter the layout of your slides.
The changes you can make to the child presentation style will be limited. You will need to choose the attributes that you wish to update. Some changes are more complicated, such as changing content or the position of elements. Once you’ve finished with this, you can go back to the theme and apply the changes you want. Then, go back to your original theme and click the Save button to apply the changes.
You should follow the same steps for adding image placeholders as when inserting text placeholders. Make sure you activate theme builder mode first. Next, click on the image placeholder and choose the image style. You can then drag it to the location you want. You can also resize the image placeholder by dragging it to the position you want. You should be aware that dragging it may cause the image to skew, so be careful not to drag it too far.
